Financial Support
Brearley proudly supports every admitted student needing financial aid, thanks to our generous community and strong endowment. This year, we will award $9.4 million to 20% of our students.
The table below offers a guide to the financial aid a family might expect based on Brearley’s 2025-2026 financial aid awards. This resource is designed to help families understand the potential support available.
Brearley carefully reviews each family's financial aid application annually to determine their potential contribution towards tuition. This comprehensive review considers various factors, including income, assets, expenses, family size, and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools.

Free Tuition Program
For families earning less than $100,000 a year, and without significant assets, Brearley offers a Free Tuition Program. Once a student is accepted and qualifies for the Free Tuition Program, Brearley covers their full tuition, which includes books, lunch, technology, athletics, grade-level trips and extracurricular activities; the school also covers additional expenses generally not covered by tuition, such as our afterschool and summer programs, music lessons and, for Upper School students, participation in one of Brearley's travel study programs. A Conscientious and Personalized Assessment
Brearley is committed to understanding each family’s unique financial situation and awarding grants that fully meet demonstrated need. Families applying for assistance must complete an annual application through Clarity, a third-party financial aid platform. While each school has its own criteria, Clarity equips the committee with the tools necessary to conduct an equitable and consistent review process.
All financial information and decisions are kept confidential. Families are encouraged to reach out to the Director of Financial Assistance with any questions or concerns during the process.
